What an inspirational day. And now the workshop has ended. We learnt how to use paper in a totally different way. How to make marks and create fantastic work out of scraps. We swapped pieces with each other and we swapped ideas. At the end we discussed each others work and how we continue to work using this method.
Cas Holmes is a very generous person who is happy to share her knowledge to push us out of our comfort zones. We do not realise it we are being creative in a totally different way. An excellent two days of fun.
Today the lovely man of the moment sat slurping his coffee in the studio and as I sat behind my machine he asked me if life would be a little easier if I had an over-locker to use for all the sewing I am currently making for the show. Well yes was my reply. After a few minutes he left the studio only to return five minutes later with an over-locker. I am a lucky lady.
A much larger A frame sign so that my lovely customers will no longer pass us. I have also ordered a new larger sign for the space on the corner of our boundary. It will be lit up so can be seen during the long winter months too.

This doesn’t always appear on google maps, so if you search for Ayscoughy Hall that is on the next turning along. I have provided a map, venue is marked on bottom right hand corner. This is the first visit Doughtys has made to South Lincolnshire so we hope it will be well supported. On Thursday I attended a workshop with Alysn Midgelow Marsden called Sculptural Explorations. We used metal sheets, wire and beads. The main picture above is Alysn’s sample and the next two are part of the process as I worked through it. When I finish the piece I will post it for you to see.
I highly recommend this workshop and I hope Alysn will visit Eau Brink Studio in the coming year.
