And so the cleaning begins. Lots of soaking and washing but they are coming up lovely and I can’t wait to use them.  As they become cleaner and softer due to cleaning I become more an more inpatient to use them. Some will be dyed and some left in their natural state, and some will be mixed with other as well as with other media. These fleece are all from In The Raw Fleeces in Spalding.

When asked if I could help with wedding bouquet using brooches and buttons I was astounded as I had never heard of such a thing. But it appears they are all the rage now. This is for a lady who loves the fashions of the 40’s and 50’s so we decided that as there would not have been many flowers available in the 40’s a hydrangea flower would be something that may have been in the garden still. The brooches are all new but in keeping with the era and then we have put buttons from the age in too. Finished bouquet will be in the new year.

Whilst in Hungry we visited this museum. This is a must for anyone wanting to see how they used Woad for this dying technique which is the same as indigo. The blocks are not cut, they used nails to create the designs. The Museum is as it was when they closed it in the 60’s. You can still purchase fabrics and I bought the most lovely table cloth for my dining table. It was one of the highlights of the visit.
