What an amazing day. We spent the day sewing into yesterdays work. First by machine to create structure, balance and texture. Then after lunch by hand for added texture. The results were fantastic and everybody was surprised by their results
Today was all about creating papers and fabrics to use for tomorrow. Using the found objects we had bought with us and for some the papers and fabrics we created yesterday we transformed them. Cas taught us how to laminate without using a screen, she also demonstrated how using just white Acrylic paint can change your piece and how to introduce other colours once you have put your pieces together ready for stitching. The day flew by and I have to say not much Honey cake was left at the end.
An exciting day with Cas saw the learners exploring mark making using dry media from Markels to Oil Pastels to make textures. We then looked at open composition, looking at inspiration from landscapes and textures and nature. This was followed by expressive lines and colour, in relation to the composition with stitch.
