The Nights are Drawing In
As the days get shorter and the nights are drawing in I find myself wanting to do more dyeing for some reason. I have spent the last few evenings using Procion dyes with threads. Once they are dyed I pop them into the microwave to set them and the colours are glorious. The only drawback is that they take a while to do. First a soaking in a mordant. Then pouring the dyes over them. Leaving them overnight to soak and the rinsing takes for every. But they are worth it.
I am hopeful that the thing is resolved tomorrow. I am informed by BT that I must allow the engineer on site and access to all areas he needs to get to. Well of course I will. That means as the nights draw in I will be able to go live and show you how I work. Fingers crossed.
This last week we had Pauline Wrighton here teaching us how to use all the feet on our sewing machines to create fabulous patterns and designs. It is amazing what you find out about your machine with Pauline. Like for me I found a foot I have never used or even knew it was there. Now I use it a lot as it is a better foot for free motion sewing.
It was a fun day with lots of great banter and laughter.
We have also been to Wymondham and set up with the Norfolk Makers for two weeks. Lots of lovely things to see and buy.
Whilst there I spoke to Caroline Hyde-Brown about her coming to Eau Brink and we will sort something out for the new year.
Her work is lovely so watch out for that one.

Eau Brink Studio is hosting Progression in Textiles for Open Studios and is open for two weekends out of the three. Come and take a look at the work. Stay for a cup of tea and of course cake. Chat to the artists too.
So much to do and with the longer nights plenty of time to do it.
I will let you know about the thing and we will see if they get it done. If they do there will be a new phone number for Eau Brink Studio as it is going digital.
