with Alexandra Waylett
Alex students work from a recent workshop
Join us for two days with Alexander Waylett learning how to create fabulous 3d art using a variety of textured layers.
3d Tryptch –A Mixed Media Wall Hanging.
You will spend the first day working with Koh i nor and various other paints and metallic wax
to produce a textural background with lens tissue, papers and string before on the second
day stitching into your designs using your floral pictures as a design source. You will be
taken through a series of steps to create the triptych using sheers and stitch to link all the
pieces. On the second day I will show you how to create 3d elements to add to your piece –
ie flower heads and leaves using water soluble in a hoop.
This Wall Panel will be completed at home but you will leave with all the necessary machine
embroidery techniques to complete it.
You will need:
A one inch /1.5 inch wide brush for backgrounds. As well as more finer one for detail and
one. Bring what you have.
A koh i noor palette (let me know if you need one) They are £7 from the studio shop.
Lumiere paints or metallic acrylics if you have them. I also bring some.
Sketchbook and hb pencil.
Selection of string/Piping cords in different widths for the stems.
A heat gun – if you have one or a hair dryer
A soldering tool – only if you have one. I bring two.
A4 pics of your chosen flowers with backgrounds. Long stemmed flowers are a good choice
and you will be using string to suggest the stems and scrim for foliage. Bring a choice of pics
and we will choose on the day if unsure. Country living mag is always a good source or
google images! Pics brought on phone are not big enough but ipad is fine. Send me pics if
you are unsure. Alex.firstname.lastname@example.org

Covid Postponement and Refunds
Here at Eau Brink Studio we want to ensure everyone who is booked onto one of our workshops is kept safe and we will follow the governments advice on educational workshops.
If government advice means face-to-face workshops cannot continue due to coronavirus (COVID-19), classes will be rescheduled to another date where possible.
Where this is the case, and you cannot attend the new workshop on the new date refunds will be provided.
If you have used paypal or card payments the companies take their fees out of refunds. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about this as they take their cut before they pay anything out.
