Hot wax resists
Landscapes in batik
Using the exciting art of batik – hot wax resist – on paper and tissue paper and using traditional and non traditional tools to create interesting marks and textures. We will then cut and tear the papers we make to create collages, landscape being our inspiration.
Landscapes in batik – can be taken as two one day workshops or one two day workshop.
On day one – The beautiful shapes and colours of the landscape will be used as inspiration to create batiks on tissue using Jenny’s contemporary interpretation of a traditional technique.Working with hot wax, bleach and inks to make individual pieces of work. No experience is necessary as the technique will be taught from scratch.
On day two – again using landscape as inspiration we will work with dyes and hot wax on cotton fabric.
All work will be suitable for working into with stitch at a later date.
All materials provided for a small extra cost, just bring an apron, hairdryer, gloves and images for inspiration.
The Batik with Jenny O’Leary workshop commences at 10 am and we finish at 4 pm.
Refreshments are included. However you need to remember your lunch.

Covid Postponement and Refunds
Here at Eau Brink Studio we want to ensure everyone who is booked onto one of our workshops is kept safe and we will follow the governments advice on educational workshops.
If government advice means face-to-face workshops cannot continue due to coronavirus (COVID-19), classes will be rescheduled to another date where possible.
Where this is the case, and you cannot attend the new workshop on the new date refunds will be provided.
If you have used paypal or card payments the companies take their fees out of refunds. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about this as they take their cut before they pay anything out.
