Experimental Wednesday at Eau Brink Studio is a fabulous day where you can play around with your stitching to create new art works.
This week we are making Silk Paper. Silk Paper makes a great background to stitch into but also can be made into 3d objects such as bowls and bags.
Anita will demonstrate how to make the paper using CMC paste and silk tops.
You will need to bring with you a selection of silk tops, roving and any other natural fibres you have.
Netting that is a little bigger than A4. For each piece of paper you will need two pieces of netting.
Flowers, grasses, sparkly man made fibres
Something to take the paper home in.
This workshop is designed for you to be able to continue to work on a project or start a new one.
Materials are not included. However, you can use the studio’s materials for a small cost.
It is set in a lovely rural situation just off the A47 and you can join Anita there where she will teach you to make all kinds of textile art in safe regulated conditions that include:
Restricted numbers to ensure safe social distancing.
Track and trace is in place.
Face masks are worn if demonstrations are taking place.
Hand sanitizers are situated at the entrance and in the bathroom facilities,
Disposable aprons and gloves.
The studio is light and airy and there are all sorts of hand and machine stitch workshops, Powertex and Eco dying.
