. Batik with Jenny O’Leary at Eau Brink Studio.
Two days of learning how to use hot wax with inks and bleach to create fabulous designs on tissue and fabric.
Day 1 we will concentrate on working with tissue paper. The following day is fabric.
Saturday – Trees – batik on tissue
Using the technique of batik (hot wax resist) to create pieces of work inspired by trees this could be the structure, leaves, shape, seasons or topiary. We will work with wax, bleach and inks and traditional and non traditional tools on tissue paper to create fabulous textures and effects. An exciting workshop allowing for exploration and discovery. No experience necessary.
Sunday – Seedpods & natural forms – batik on fabric
The beautiful shapes of seedpods and natural forms will be used as inspiration to create batiks on cotton. Working with hot wax as a resist we will use paint on dyes to create imaginative interpretations of the theme.
All work from both workshops is suitable for further development with stitch
The Batik with Jenny O’Leary workshop commences at 10 am and we finish at 4 pm.
