Mary MacIntosh Monoprint Magic workshop

Mary McIntosh is set to join us once more, this time for a two-day workshop taking place on the 28th and 29th of June. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:

The images are from a piece I made inspired by the Dallinghoo Hoard find of Iceni coins. For the Eau Brink workshop we will go out and collect items from nature to use

Day one will be all about creating simple stamps and monoprinting on semi-transparent fabric. We'll explore various color options using paints and inks.

Moving on to day two, we'll utilize the printed fabrics from day one to delve into the contemporary Pojagi piecing method. The final result will be a one-of-a-kind double-sided semi-transparent panel, perfect for hanging in a window or against a light-colored wall. And don't worry, we can adjust the size to suit your space.

Here's what you'll need to bring with you:

A4 gelliplate or laminated A4 sheet or OHP acetate
A padded surface like an old sheet or towel
A brayer
Acrylic paints in your preferred colors, including black
A small spray bottle
Approximately 20 sheets of A4 copier paper
An old iron
A sewing machine in good working order
A variety of machine threads in your chosen color scheme
A cutting mat, ruler, and rotary cutter
Your usual sewing kit, including pins and scissors
Mary will supply the materials for making stamps, acrylic inks/brusho, and the white and colored cotton organdie fabric, all for just £15. It's going to be a fantastic creative experience!
